Internet on my new PC

Went out with my parents in the morning.. Came back in the afternoon.. After which, I went on to connect the cables to my modem.. As my new PC is in my room, I had to shift my modem to my room.. As such, I had to connect this very long telephone cable from the plug in my living room to my room.. Spent some time doing this, but all this is worth it.. Cause now I'm using my new PC to access the Internet, and type my blog.. Yea..

I have a Dream..

Went to Jason's house yesterday together with Boon Hao.. Spent the whole of yesterday playing mahjong with them.. In the end, I spent the whole of my Sunday at his house.. Went back home after watching "Spiderman" at his house..

Recently, I have a dream.. I dream of being able to play in a band.. I dream of playing Nirvana's songs with my band.. Although I do have a band, it is a band that is facing a lot of difficulties.. We currently have 6 members, but we have more vocalists than instrumentalists.. And out of the instrumentalists, all of us play the guitar.. So, without a bassist and a drummer, we are not much of a band.. But I have high hopes that we can eventually come to something.. Just give me some more time to come up with a solution..

As of now, my dream is, as it is, just a dream.. But I do hope that one day, this dream will come true.. I dream of playing Nirvana's "Smells Like A Teen Spirit" on stage one day.. I know it is a wild dream.. But it's something that really motivates me.. I really hope to be able to perform this song with my band, as a tribute to the late Kurt Cobain.. But before I can do that, I need to sort out the difficulties which my band face, as well as seriously hone my voice.. I know it is of utmost difficulty that I take on this challenge, but it is a dream that I would really like to see come true one day..

Forming a band??

Have been trying to form a band with people from my neighbourhood since the start of June.. Finally, today is going to be the day that I get to meet up with some of them.. Decided to meet at a Kopitiam in our neighbourhood to have lunch together.. Went there at 1:30pm, our meeting time.. No one was there yet.. I was there early cause I'm the one who wanted to start a band, so it's not nice for me to be late..

Soon after, Janet arrived.. After which, Prinsten arrived, followed by Ah Don.. Guess that was about all who were able to come today.. John and Suying could not make it today.. After a brief introduction, we proceeded to have our lunch.. Talked about a lot of things.. Discussed about the various problems we'll be facing if we're to form a band.. Didn't really come to any solution, but at least we got to know more about each other.. Decided to meet up perhaps another time for an informal jamming session.. Left for home after that at around 4pm..

Went home and set up the PC which I just bought.. Was much easier than I thought it would be.. Hope I'll be able to surf the Internet on my new PC soon..

New PC..

Went to Sim Lim Square today with David.. Was planning to get the HP PC which we saw a week ago.. Met up at Bugis MRT at 10:30am.. Made our way to Sim Lim Square after that.. After we reached Sim Lim Square, we found out that the shop was not open yet.. Too early.. Hence, we took a walk around the other shops that were open.. When the shop is finally open for business, we went in and made some last-minute enquiries..

After hearing from the sales assistant there, both of us agreed that this is the PC for us.. We placed our orders with them.. Decided to cash-and-carry cause their delivery schedule is tight.. Found out that we have to collect our PC from Funan.. As such, we made our way down to Funan..

Had our lunch at Funan.. We decided to take a walk around Funan first before collecting our PC, cause we wouldn't be able to do so once we decide to collect our PC.. After walking around the shops for some time, both of us decided to buy a PC game each.. After which, we went to collect our PC.. Took a cab back after collecting our PC.. Left Funan at around 4:30pm.. I reached home at around 5pm..

Badminton session again..

Had a badminton session with Weiming, Gun Kiat and David yesterday.. Met up at Weiming's house at around 10am.. Slacked there for a while before going off to play badminton at around 12pm.. Played for more than 2 hours.. Left the court at around 2:45pm.. Gun Kiat had to leave first cause he had something on.. So the rest of us proceeded to Weiming's house, where we had our shower.. After which, we left for the nearby food centre to have our lunch.. It was almost 4 pm when we had our lunch..

After we had our lunch, we decided to go to Bugis.. Weiming wanted to go pray at the temple there.. So we went with him.. Took the chance to pray there too.. After that, we left to take a walk at Suntec City.. We went to Funan after the walk at Suntec.. The trip to Funan was actually the main reason why we went out.. Cause David wanted to shop for computers there.. Went around looking at the computers.. David saw a few which he took into consideration.. But in the end he didn't get any cause he's still in two minds as to which one to buy.. Left Funan at around 9pm..

Went to the Grammaphone at City Hall area.. Cause I was looking for a Nirvana DVD.. Happen to chance upon the Nirvana Box Set instead of the DVD.. Was looking for it for a long time.. Almost gave up finding it when I couldn't find it anywhere.. Never expect to find it there.. Really wanted to buy it, but the price prevented me from doing so (the box set cost around $93).. Knowing my nature, I know I'll go back for it one day.. Yea.. I'll get it someday..

Went to Plaza Singapura after that.. Bought a drink there and sat down to have it.. Left for home at around 10:30pm..

Moving on to a new phase in life..

Wanted to update my blog yesterday.. But was too tired when I reached home last night.. So here I am, updating it now.. Yesterday marks the start of a new phase in my life: Going back to the life of a civilian.. Got back my pink IC yesterday.. It has been a long 2 years 4 months since I last saw my pink IC.. Getting my IC back yesterday means I have completed my duty as a NSF.. Was really happy when I saw my pink IC.. Yea..

Had a mini celebration with some of my camp friends.. Met up at around 6pm at Woodlands MRT.. Another one of my friend is also disrupting for studies, so my camp friends decided to hold a mini celebration for the two of us.. After all of us arrived at Woodlands MRT, we proceeded to the Seoul Garden at Causeway Point to have our dinner.. Had a lot of fun eating and talking over there.. After we finished our dinner at around 9pm, some of them decided to go sing KTV.. We went to PartyWorld KTV for our KTV session.. Really enjoyed the time spent there..Went home at around 11:30pm..

Getting my pink IC also means that I'll be starting my studies soon.. Hopefully I'll be able to overcome whatever difficulties I may face along the way.. But for now, I guess I'll go back to reading the book which I just bought, "Heavier Than Heaven"..

Cycling at East Coast Park..

Met up with my friends, Weiming, Gun Kiat, Bernard and David to go cycling at East Coast Park.. Been quite a while since the 5 of us met up.. Went to AMK MRT Station to meet up with Bernard first.. Reached there at around 11am.. Bernard was held up, so he could only meet me at 11:30am.. I took a walk around the area first before meeting up with him.. After which, we took bus 76 to Marine Parade.. Reached there at around 12:10pm..

Upon reaching there, we found out that the rest were not there yet.. Took a walk around Parkway Parade.. Gun Kiat arrived not too long after.. Weiming messaged me and said that he'll meet up with us at East Coast Park.. So that leaves David.. We went to take a seat at the BK over there while waiting for David.. Knowing that David just woke up not too long ago, we figured that it would take some time before he reaches Marine Parade.. But never did we expect that we have to wait this long..

Time seems to crawl while we waited for David.. We really wondered what happen to him.. Gave him a call and found out that he was on his way.. But we waited and waited.. Still he didn't come.. After waiting for more than an hour, David finally arrived.. Turns out that he actually took the wrong bus.. Since we have not had our lunch, we decided to have it at the food centre over there..

Poor Weiming.. He had to wait at East Coast Park for all of us.. We finally reached him at around 3pm.. We walked for some time before we rented some bicycles to ride at 3:30pm.. Went on to ride our bicycles on the bicycle tracks for 2 full hours.. After we returned our bicyles, Weiming told us that he had to leave early.. So we left East Coast Park for Plaza Singapura.. We had our dinner there.. Weiming left after we bought our dinner.. We took a walk down to Orchard Road after that.. Went to Kinokuniya at Takashimaya Shopping Centre.. Found the book which I was looking for and so I proceeded to buy it.. Title of the book: "Heavier Than Heaven".. The book is actually the Biography of Kurt Cobain, Nirvana's frontman.. After we left Kinokuniya, we decided to go home.. Left town at around 9:30pm for home..

A short outing..

Went out with Jason and Boon Hao today.. Boon Hao wanted to get some new clothes, cause he managed to get himself a job.. So we decided to accompany him on his shopping trip.. Met up at Orchard MRT at 12pm.. Went for lunch at McDonalds before going around the area to look for suitable clothes for him.. Saw nothing that catches his eyes, so we left the area to take a walk around Chinatown.. While we were there, Boon Hao managed to find a shirt, a pair of trousers, and a pair of leather shoes there.. He then went on to buy them.. After which, we had some dessert at one of the stalls there before we left for home at around 5:30pm..

Outing with my friends..

Went out with my friends, Weiming, Gun Kiat and David yesterday (yes, cause it's past midnight again).. Met up at Bugis as we were going to Sim Lim Square.. David and I were thinking of getting a new computer, so we decided to make a trip there to have a look.. Reach Sim Lim Square around 2pm.. Weiming and David had lunch there.. After which, we walked around, looking for suitable computers to buy.. Saw a HP computer selling at $1999.. Thought the specifications were quite good.. May consider buying that.. In the end, we decided to consider first before coming to a decision..

After that, we left Sim Lim Square.. By then, it was already 5pm.. As Gun Kiat and I have not had lunch yet, we went to BK to have our late lunch.. After which, we shopped around Bugis area.. Gun Kiat and I went around looking for handphones as we were thinking of buying one.. All of us also went shopping around for stuff that we need.. In the end, Weiming and Gun Kiat both bought things that they need (bags and clothes).. After all the shopping, it turns out that we're getting late.. It was almost 9pm.. We decided to make our way to Suntec City, where we had our dinner there.. By then, most of the shops there were closed.. We then made our way to City Hall MRT.. Along the way, we stopped by Starbucks at Raffles Shopping Centre, and decided to have a drink.. While sitted there, we were entertained by David and his "misadventures".. Despite that, we did share a lot of incidents that were very close to our hearts.. After that, we decided to head home.. We left for home at around 11.15pm..

The whole outing was again a very enjoyable one, peppered with fun and laughter (as usual, mostly provided by David).. Hope we'll have more of such outings again..

WONDERWALL

Just another one of those boring weekends whereby I stayed at home for both Saturday and Sunday.. But staying at home is not neccesarily bad, cause it means I have more time to play my guitar.. Yea.. In the end, I spent most of my time playing my guitar for the past 2 days..

Spent most of my time playing the song, "Wonderwall".. First heard the song from the album "Love is Hell" by Ryan Adams.. Although the song was originally sung by Oasis, I didn't have the chance to hear the original version of the song.. However, when I heard the rendition of "Wonderwall" sung by Ryan Adams, I was immediately bowled over by the song.. It is such a soulful redition of the song that I told myself that I'm going to learn how to play the song, no matter how difficult it may be..

After 2 days of trying to play the song, I guess I'm now able to play it (but not as good yet).. However, I'm now trying to achieve something that is even more challenging: Play and sing "Wonderwall" at the same time.. It is going to be a very big challenge, cause the guitar-playing is very fast, thus making it very difficult to play and sing at the same time.. But no matter what, I'm going to embrace this challenge.. Hopefully one day I can play and sing the song fair enough to do justice to this song, "Wonderwall"..

Badminton

Played badminton today with my best friends: Weiming, Gun Kiat and David.. Played from 12pm till 3pm... Had a very good workout cause I have not played badminton for a long, long time.. Really enjoyed ourselves today playing badminton.. After the badminton session, we went for lunch, and after which we went back to Weiming's house to take a shower.. Stayed there until around 7pm, after which we left to take a walk around AMK area.. Had dinner there too at around 8pm.. Walked for a while more before we headed home at around 10pm..

Really enjoyed myself today playing badminton.. And also all the times we spent together..

Went to Compass Point

Went to Compass Point with my mum today, cause she needed to settle some things over there.. Took a walk around after the thing is done.. Went to the Popular there and found some guitar books which might prove useful to me.. Bought them after some consideration.. After which, I proceeded to the Sembawang Music Centre over there.. Saw two CDs which I've been trying to find for some time.. "This Armor" and "Sugar High" by Chihiro Onitsuka.. These two CDs are the second and third albums of Chihiro Onitsuka.. There's a third CD that I've been also trying to find, and that is her first album, "Insomnia".. Was considering whether I should get them.. Cause I'm not sure which one I should get first.. Left Compass Point after that..

Maybe I should have gotten both of them.. Since I had a very hard time finding them.. Perhaps I should do that the next time I go there..

Visited PC Show 2005

Visited PC Show 2005 today (no, wrong, I mean yesterday cause it's past midnight again).. Went there with my friend, Weiming.. As the PC Show was held at the Expo, we took a very long time before we reached there.. When we reached there, the crowd there was still manageable.. But after a while, more and more people came, to the extent that the exhibition hall became super crowded.. We took a short walk inside the exhibition hall, then decided to leave as there's nothing much that we really need to buy..

After we left the Expo, we headed towards Orchard Road.. Grabbed a bite before we walked around.. Weiming said he needs to get a birthday present for his friend, so we went around looking for a suitable gift.. Managed to find one.. After which, we left for home..

Nothing much happened today.. As usual.. But at least I managed to go for a walk downtown..

An unexpected, yet pleasant surprise..

Went to Jason's house today.. Jason, together with Boon Hao, are my other group of best friends.. We met for lunch at Bishan, took a short walk around Junction 8, before heading to Jason's house at Sembawang.. Didn't manage to do much.. Played some guitar and some games on his X-Box.. Left for home after dinner..

That was how the day went for me.. Anyway, I'll go back to the main topic for today.. Before I left to meet up with Jason and Boon Hao, I managed to have a little check at my friendster account.. When I opened my account, I had an unexpected, but pleasant surprise.. Some time ago, I managed to find an old friend of mine on the Friendster website.. Due to some actions of mine a few years ago, we lost contact with each other since then.. I thought this friendship would be lost forever.. Nevertheless, I sent her a message, hoping for her to add me as her friend.. When I opened my account today, I found out that she has added me to her list of friends!! This was a very unexpected, yet pleasant surprise for me..

Missed the opening of PC Show 2005

Thought of going to the PC Show 2005 today, but in the end I didn't.. Today is actually the first day of PC Show 2005, and I was thinking of going today.. However, something cropped up at the last minute, and I had to change my original plan.. As such, I think I may have to go on Sunday instead..

Was supposed to update my blog yesterday, but my computer monitor went haywire.. Couldn't see properly, so I wasn't able to update my blog.. However, my monitor is fine again today.. Hence I'm able to update my blog.. Hope that my monitor wouldn't die on me again.. Looks like it's time to change my PC soon..
