A much-awaited reunion...
Went out with Gun Kiat, Kien Wei, Bernard and Weiming yesterday.. It has been a really long time since I last saw them.. Everyone was busy with their own school work, and it was until now that our exams are over that we can finally meet up again..
Met up for KTV at 11am at Orchard Cineleisure.. Sang from 11am to around 2:30pm.. It has really been a long time since I last went for a KTV session.. Really enjoyed myself yesterday.. Will not forget Kien Wei's "ghostly" rendition of a song (I guess you guys know what I mean).. It just feels so great to sing with all of you guys again..
Went to HMV after the KTV session.. Was searching for Hyde's latest album, Faith.. Was wondering if it would be available in Singapore, cause it's not really a mainstream type of album.. Managed to find it though, but in the end, I did not buy it.. Cause the price would have burnt a big hole in my pocket if I bought it.. $52.90.. That is around $5 for a song.. I guess I'll just have to spend some time looking around for a better price somewhere else..
Although Weiming could not join us for the KTV session, he met up with us after that.. We then went to Sim Lim Square on Gun Kiat's lorry as Kien Wei wanted to buy a MP3 player.. Went around comparing prices and functions of the many MP3 players that could be found there.. Was quite undecided over which was the best MP3 player to buy until we chanced upon a shop selling Sony products.. We were quite surprised when we saw a Sony MP3 player with a 6GB memory selling for only $275.. All of us thought that Sony MP3 players would be quite expensive.. So when we saw this offer, all of us agreed that this is a very good buy.. In the end, Kien Wei bought the MP3 player..
Next, we went to the foodcourt at basement 1 to have our dinner.. Kien Wei treated all of us to chicken rice, although we all felt that it was not really necessary, cause we didn't really do much except giving him some advice.. But he insisted on giving us a treat, saying that we helped him a lot by making this trip with him.. I guess we just have to thank him for this kind gesture.. Thanks...
After dinner, we went to Bugis Junction for a walk.. Spent some time at Kinokuniya before leaving for home at around 9pm..
Really had a great time yesterday.. It is just so great to be able to meet up with my friends again.. Also enjoyed the KTV sesson yesterday.. I guess after singing quite a lot of Rock songs recently, I'm now able to reach higher notes without turning to falsetto.. But as a result of this, my control of falsetto tends to suffer a little.. I guess I still need to find the perfect balance between the two.. Must work on this.. In addition to this, I also noticed something else.. This has something to do with my style of singing.. After listening to lot of songs by L'Arc~en~Ciel, I discovered that I have developed a style of singing that is a shadow of Hyde's "laid-back" style of singing.. Am I beginning to sing in a "laid-back" manner too?? Perhaps nobody noticed this, but I was quite sure I did sing in this manner at some point of time.. Not that I'm complaining though.. I guess some songs sound better if they are sung in this manner.. I guess what I need to do now is to use the correct style of singing for different songs..
I really hope to sing as well as Hyde one day.. Something for me to work towards to.. Really looking forward to Geyong next semester.. I'm sure I'll scale greater heights in the next semester.. I am now more confident of my voice.. Hope to do better next semester for Geyong...
Really had a good time yesterday.. Hope to see you guys again soon...
